Since 2002, innovative traveling exhibitions created by the National Museum of Dentistry have reached more than 2 million people at children’s and science museums in 32 cities and 21 states, inspiring visitors of all ages to make healthy choices about oral health and celebrate the heritage and future of dentistry. Local dental associations in each city often partner with host museums to promote the exhibition and plan educational programs, enhancing oral health education across the country.

From CSI to the real world, unlock the mysteries of the body with hands-on investigations that reveal what your mouth says about you. Step into the role of a forensic investigator, see what’s in that remarkable fluid called saliva, and find out how scientists are using bioengineering to grow teeth. No wall space is needed; this exhibit is built to travel and stand alone in the gallery.
Participation fee: $8,000/3 months, plus incoming shipping costs

The chatterteeth mascot Mouthie guides children ages 5-8 in a hands-on discovery of the power of a healthy smile through vibrant modular learning stations that can be configured to any space. Children can practice brushing and flossing on a larger-than-life mouth, role play in a child-size “dental office,” learn the dangers of tobacco, explore the parts of a tooth, and more!
Participation fee: $6,000/3 months, plus incoming shipping costs
Total exhibition space needed: 350 square feet.
Branches, Bristles and Batteries: Toothbrushes Through Time
“Brush up” on the terrific truths about toothbrushes while developing habits that ensure good oral health. Targeted to elementary age children, this multi-station exhibition hosted by Brushella the Tooth Fairy features a display of objects that trace the history of the toothbrush from ancient cultures to the present, and interactive learning stations that explore healthy eating and how to brush and floss to guarantee a lifetime of healthy smiles.
