On this special Oddities Tour, see Queen Victoria’s dental instruments, Mrs. Tom Thumb’s petite porcelain denture, and the home fluoridation unit used in Senator Robert Kennedy’s home. Learn all about the medieval tooth worm theory, the curious ways people have decorated their teeth, how a dentist first discovered ether to numb the pain, and more. The Oddities Tour is being held in conjunction with Obscura Day, an international celebration of curious places around the world.

Tooth Fairy Day
Sunday, May 16, 1-4 p.m.
What do you do if your baby tooth falls out in the Philippines? Throw it over the roof! Take a trip around the world to find out about surprising tooth traditions during Tooth Fairy Day. Meet the Tooth Fairy, learn how to take care of your teeth, and make toothy creations to take home based on traditions from around the world. Free with regular Museum admission—kids who come dressed like a fairy get in for $1!
